Actions › Variables
Set a Variable
Gives a value to a Variable: the server's, a member's, or a temporary one. With a formula, it's a calculation reusable by its name.
- Free
- Outputs: Success, Failure
- Undone after a test
Fields
What you set in Properties. The grey name is the one in the Blueprint's JSON.
| Field | What it does | |
|---|---|---|
Scope scope | required | |
Variable name | required | |
Member member | The member whose value is read or written. | optional |
Value value | required | |
Only if it holds a value onlyIfExists | Otherwise nothing is written and the node goes on through its Success output: the Variable was never set, was cleared or reset. “Written” tells which. | optional |
What it passes on
On the Success output, for the nodes after it. Click a value in the editor to copy its reference.
| Data | Path | Type | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Value | value | Unknown | can be empty |
| Previous value | previousValue | Unknown | can be empty |
| Written | written | Yes/No |
When it fails
The Failure output receives success (false) and error: error.code, error.message in the server's language, and error.detail, what Discord said. The possible causes are in Errors.
Discord permissions
None: the bot needs no server permission for this node.
